Dasymutilla fulgida Mickel, 1928: 76.
Dasymutilla pallida Mickel, 1937a: 186.
Identification. FEMALE and MALE. See Manley et al. (2020).
Distribution. Mexico: Chiapas, Coahuila, Distrito Federal, Durango, Jalisco, Michoacan, Morelos, Puebla, Queretaro; USA: Arizona.
Local material examined. USA, Arizona, Cochise Co., KT.MT, W.R. Radke and K.A. Williams, 27.VI– 11.VII.2024 (1♂, CSCA; Fig. 48).
Remarks. This is apparently the most common Dasymutilla species in Mexico (Williams et al. 2024), but it is not commonly encountered in Arizona. A single male was collected at the KT site in 2024. Dasymutilla erythrina occurs at both high and low elevations.
