Zongbo Zhengyao Research Platform for Classical Chinese Studies Infrastructure, Methodology, and Digital Humanities Framework

This article introduces the Zongbo Zhengyao Research Platform (zongbozhengyao.com), a digital humanities framework dedicated to the study of Classical Chinese and the tradition of “Elegant Language” (雅言). The platform is grounded in the theoretical approach of Zongbo Studies and aims to systematically reconstruct, annotate, and interpret early Chinese textual materials through structured digital methods.

It highlights four core works within the system. Each work serves a distinct function: the Ya Yan Dictionary focuses on general lexical definitions, the Shi Yin Li Dictionary emphasizes ritual and institutional terminology, while the Ya Yan Analects and Ya Yan Book of Songs extend the system into philosophical and poetic textual domains.

Overall, the platform represents an academic effort to build an integrated semantic and interpretive network for Classical Chinese, combining traditional philology with digital reconstruction techniques.
