Description
This dataset contains the Life Cycle Inventory for the Life Cycle Assessment of breast cancer screening. It includes all the ecoinvent datasets used in this analysis.
This research systematically maps the environmental impact of the national breast cancer screening programme in the Netherlands. Each year, more than 1.2 million women are invited to participate in this screening, making it one of the largest preventive health programmes in the country. Although early detection of breast cancer significantly helps to prevent loss of health and to improve treatment outcomes, the programme, like all products and services, causes environmental burdens to a greater or lesser extent. By making these effects transparent, it becomes possible to explore how they might be reduced.
Using a life cycle assessment (LCA), we examined which components of the breast cancer screening contribute most to total greenhouse gas emissions, resource use, land use and other environmental impacts.
This dataset is in Dutch.
