Description

This report presents the 2017 University Waste Management Plan of the Universidad de Monterrey (UDEM), developed by the UDEM Center for Sustainability. It outlines the institution's regulatory framework and commitments under Mexican environmental law (LGEEPA, LGPGIR, and related NOMs) for managing special-handling and hazardous waste. The document details the quantity and composition of waste generated across campus, the color-coded "ecological stations" separation scheme, and specific handling protocols for waste from university facilities, food concessions, medical/biological-infectious waste, and maintenance operations, along with collection and final-disposal requirements for contracted waste service providers.

This document is the original 2017 UDEM University Waste Management Plan, previously available on the UDEM institutional website. It is re-hosted here in 2026 as the original webpage is no longer accessible, to preserve a citable, permanent link.
