Nanotechnology: Principles, Applications, Challenges, and Future Directions

Description

Nanotechnology is the science and engineering of manipulating matter at dimensions 
typically between 1 and 100 nanometers. At this scale, materials exhibit unique 
physical, chemical, electrical, optical, and biological properties that differ significantly 
from their bulk counterparts. Nanotechnology has emerged as one of the most 
transformative scientific fields of the 21st century, influencing medicine, electronics, 
energy systems, environmental remediation, agriculture, manufacturing, and quantum 
technologies. This paper reviews the fundamental principles of nanotechnology, major 
classes of nanomaterials, fabrication techniques, industrial and biomedical applications, 
ethical considerations, safety concerns, and future research directions. The study 
concludes that nanotechnology will remain a foundational technology for next
generation innovation, particularly when integrated with artificial intelligence, 
biotechnology, and quantum computing.
