Науково-довідкове видання містить ретельно систематизовані біографічні та документальні матеріали про курсантів, випускників і співробітників Української державної льотної академії (УДЛА), а також військових льотчиків — уродженців краю, які віддали свої життя у боротьбі за незалежність, суверенітет та територіальну цілісність України.
Видання присвячене 75-річчю діяльності академії (1951–2026 рр.) та є результатом понад десятирічної дослідницької праці авторки у сфері воєнної історії та меморалізації.
Структура довідника
Книга складається зі вступу, п’яти логічних розділів та післямови, що охоплюють різні категорії полеглих захисників-авіаторів:
Вступ. Висвітлює теоретико-правові засади збереження історичної пам'яті як чинника формування національної ідентичності та 10 принципів меморіалізації за рекомендаціями УІНП (Українського інституту національної пам'яті).
Розділ 1. Полеглі у російсько-українській війні курсанти та випускники УДЛА (Сергій Вдовін, Андрій Грядюшко, Сергій Довгенко, Ростислав Мелентьєв, Олександр Пашин, Антон Савицький, Данило Сікорський, Андрій Таран, Ринат Фасхутдінов).
Розділ 2. Полеглі у російсько-українській війні співробітники льотної академії — фахівці, які передавали авіаційний досвід, а в критичний момент встали на захист Батьківщини (Артур Ільченко, Олексій Пашкевич, Андрій Соловйов, Олександр Ткаченко, Євгеній Цимбал).
Розділ 3. «Лицарі неба, що залишилися в ньому навічно»: Військові льотчики — наші краяни (Олександр Жибров, Степан Чобану).
Розділ 4. Випускник УДЛА Олександр Калянінов — Національний герой Азербайджану (посмертно).
Післямова. Завершальний комеморативний акорд видання.
Особливості видання
Документальна точність: Кожен життєпис побудований на основі аналізу особових справ архіву академії, сповіщень родин, лікарських свідоцтв про смерть та витягів з указів Президента України про нагородження.
Візуальний матеріал: Книга містить світлини з особистих та сімейних архівів героїв, зображення шевронів військових підрозділів, де вони служили, та копії офіційних документів.
Людський вимір війни: Окрім військових звань та бойового шляху, у довіднику відображено особистісні риси, уподобання, спогади рідних, вчителів, друзів та бойових побратимів.
Освітня місія: Довідник рекомендовано Науково-методичною радою УДЛА для здобувачів вищої освіти спеціальностей «Авіаційний транспорт», «Менеджмент» та «Право» при вивченні дисциплін «Історія авіації» та «Історія України та української культури».

Abstract (English)
About the Publication
The scientific and reference publication contains carefully systematized biographical and documentary materials about cadets, graduates, and staff of the Ukrainian State Flight Academy (USFA), as well as military pilots—natives of the region—who gave their lives in the struggle for the independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
The publication is dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the academy (1951–2026) and is the result of over ten years of the author's research work in the field of military history and memorialization.
Structure of the Reference Book
The book consists of an introduction, five logical chapters, and an afterword, covering various categories of fallen aviator-defenders:
Introduction. Highlights the theoretical and legal foundations of preserving historical memory as a factor in forming national identity, as well as the 10 principles of memorialization recommended by the UINP (Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance).
Chapter 1. Cadets and graduates of the USFA who fell in the Russian-Ukrainian war (Serhii Vdovin, Andrii Hriadiushko, Serhii Dovhenko, Rostyslav Melentiev, Oleksandr Pashyn, Anton Savytskyi, Danylo Sikorskyi, Andrii Taran, Rynat Faskhutdinov).
Chapter 2. Staff members of the flight academy who fell in the Russian-Ukrainian war—specialists who passed on aviation experience and, at a critical moment, stood up to defend the Homeland (Artur Ilchenko, Oleksii Pashkevych, Andrii Soloviov, Oleksandr Tkachenko, Yevhenii Tsymbal).
Chapter 3. "Knights of the sky who remained in it forever": Military pilots—our compatriots (Oleksandr Zhybrov, Stepan Chobanu).
Chapter 4. USFA graduate Oleksandr Kalianinov — National Hero of Azerbaijan (posthumously).
Afterword. The final commemorative chord of the publication.
Key Features of the Publication
Documentary accuracy: Each biography is based on an analysis of personal files from the academy's archive, family death notices, medical death certificates, and excerpts from decrees of the President of Ukraine on awards.
Visual material: The book contains photographs from the personal and family archives of the heroes, images of the chevrons of the military units where they served, and copies of official documents.
The human dimension of the war: In addition to military ranks and combat paths, the reference book reflects personal traits, preferences, and memories of relatives, teachers, friends, and brothers-in-arms.
Educational mission: The reference book is recommended by the Scientific and Methodological Council of the USFA for higher education students of the specialties "Aviation Transport," "Management," and "Law" when studying the disciplines "History of Aviation" and "History of Ukraine and Ukrainian Culture."
