Hyytiälä UAV Point Cloud Demo Dataset - 2025

## Overview

This repository contains a small clipped subset of a larger forest point cloud acquired in Finland at Hyytiälä, SMEARII in 2025. The dataset is provided as a public demonstration sample for testing and prototyping.

The clip was extracted from a larger survey and exported using CloudCompare. It is intended only as a lightweight example dataset for sharing with collaborators and the wider community.

- Coordinate Reference System: EPSG:32635 (WGS 84 / UTM Zone 35N)
- Horizontal Units: metres
- RGB values included: Yes
- Point cloud source: DJI L2 workflow processed with DJI Terra
- Original software identifier: DJI TERRA 4.5.18.1 DJI L2

## Coordinate Precision

The LAS file stores coordinates using:

- Scale X: 0.0001 m
- Scale Y: 0.0001 m
- Scale Z: 0.0001 m

## Data Quality

This dataset is provided "as is".

No formal quality assessment has been performed for this public release. The point cloud may contain artefacts, classification errors, geolocation errors, reconstruction errors, missing points, or other issues typical of photogrammetric and lidar datasets.

Users should not assume that the dataset is suitable for scientific, engineering, operational, or commercial applications without performing their own validation.
