ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE

Description

Alzheimer's disease is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder and the leading cause of dementia among older adults worldwide. The disease is characterized by gradual deterioration of memory, cognitive abilities, language, and behavior, significantly affecting the quality of life of patients and their families. The objective of this study was to examine the current understanding of Alzheimer's disease, including its causes, pathological mechanisms, clinical manifestations, diagnostic approaches, and treatment strategies. A comprehensive review of scientific literature was conducted using contemporary medical sources and research publications. The findings demonstrate that Alzheimer's disease is associated with the accumulation of amyloid-beta plaques and tau protein tangles, leading to neuronal degeneration and cognitive decline. Although there is currently no cure, early diagnosis and appropriate management can slow symptom progression and improve patient outcomes. Continued research is essential for developing more effective therapeutic interventions.
