THE IMPACT OF SOLAR ENERGY ON THE ENVIRONMENT, ITS RESILIENCE TO CLIMATE CHANGE AND PRACTICAL RECOMMENDATIONS FOR TASHKENT REGION

Authors/Creators

Description

This article examines the environmental impact of solar energy, evaluates its resilience in the context of climate change, and provides practical recommendations for the Tashkent region. The life cycle greenhouse gas emissions of solar panels are around 20–50 g CO₂-eq/kWh, which is 90–96 percent lower than those of coal and natural gas. Issues of land use, water consumption, and waste are also analyzed. The use of solar energy in the geographical and climatic conditions of the Tashkent region can play a significant role in climate change adaptation and the development of a green economy. The article presents practical recommendations based on GIS, Global Solar Atlas, and Solargis data.
