Description

This review examines why biodiversity considerations remain largely absent from individual investment decisions, despite their inclusion in sustainable finance frameworks. It identifies behavioural, informational and institutional barriers, including cognitive biases, limited financial literacy, information gaps and structural constraints within investment and pension systems. The study highlights the need for improved biodiversity data, financial labelling, behavioural interventions and clearer fiduciary responsibilities to better align investment behaviour with individuals’ nature-conscious preferences.
