Description

This repository contains SEVN stellar tables generated with Trackcruncher (https://gitlab.com/sevncodes/trackcruncher V2.0.0) from the stellar tracks MIST V2.5 (https://mist.science/model_grids.html).
We only used non-rotating models (v/vcrit=0.0)

Content

Each of the archives  with tables contains:

  • SEVNtracks_MISTV2.5_aYX.X_AGBnotpedantic: complete table set (YX.X refers to the specific case of [α/Fe], see above)
  • SEVNtracks_MISTV2.5_aYX.X_AGBnotpedantic_gold: set containing the subset of metallicities with the best mass coverage (YX.X refers to the specific case of [α/Fe], see above)
  • extract_tracks.sh: zsh script used to extract the tracks downloaded from the MIST website and create the folder structure to be read by Trackcruncher *
  • make_tables: python script used to recursively call Trackcruncher and generate all the SEVN tables
  • tables_analysis_SEVNtracks_MISTV2.5_aYX.X_AGBnotpedantic: folder containing summary info (number of tracks, mass range covered) and summary plots for the related tables, generated with tables_validator.py
  • tables_analysis_SEVNtracks_MISTV2.5_aYX.X_AGBnotpedantic_gold: same as above, but for the gold subset
  • tables_validator.py: script used to validate the tables and generate the tables_analysis_*

Info about models

  • The definition of Z_sun used for the models is Z_sun=0.016.
  • "AGBnotpedantic" refers to the fact that we did not discard tracks of stars that do not complete the AGB (i.e. that are not completely stripped during the AGB evolution). For the stars that did not go through the full AGB phase, we manually remove the envelope at the last evolutionary point.
  • The optional table included in the set are: Qconv, Tconv, Depthconv, Inertia (see SEVN paper  (Iorio+23) and documentation for further information). The radii of the helium core and of the co core are not available, so rember to set the runtime parameter -use_rhe false and -use_rco false when running SEVN
  • For the info about the convective envelope (Qconv, Tconv, Depthconv), we treat as non-zero only the entries with Mconv/Menv>0.0001. We verified that for lower values the entries become quite noisy, likely due to numerical errors: in these cases we can have Qconv>0 together with estimated turnover times that are negative, not available, or that show an unphysically large jump of several orders of magnitude. We also set all three values to 0 if at least one of them is lower than or equal to 0.

How to cite

If you use these tables in our work please report that they have been created with Trackcrunher V2.0.0 (https://gitlab.com/sevncodes/trackcruncher), the main use the main SEVN paper as reference (Iorio et al. 2023, https://ui.adsabs.harvard.edu/abs/2023MNRAS.524..426I/abstract).

Please also acknowledge the MIST V2.5 stellar models by following the guideline in the MIST webpage (https://mist.science/references.html, Bauer+25 and Dotter+26 refers to the MIST V2.5 models used to produce these tables).
