Results of an online survey of academic staff from higher education institutions regarding their participation in international grant projects

Data collection was carried out between March 4, 2024, and May 26, 2024, using Google Forms, which served as the platform for administering the questionnaire, collecting responses, and subsequently exporting the dataset for processing. The survey link was distributed via messengers in the departmental groups of the respective universities, ensuring respondents had remote access to the survey.

The sample was formed based on non-random sampling, which was necessitated by the method of questionnaire distribution and the voluntary nature of participation in the survey. This approach is appropriate for studies aimed at identifying the perspectives, experiences, and assessments of participants within a specific professional group, rather than constructing a statistically representative sample at the national level.

The final analytical sample included 216 academic staff members from the following higher education institutions: Khmelnytskyi National University, National University of Water and Environmental Engineering (Rivne), Kherson State Agrarian and Economic University, National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine, Bila Tserkva National Agrarian University, Zhytomyr Polytechnic State University, Stepan Gzhytskyi National University of Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnologies Lviv, Zhytomyr Ivan Franko State University, as well as Ukrainian academic staff working in Polish higher education institutions.

The inclusion criteria for the study were as follows: being a member of the academic staff at a higher education institution; active engagement in professional activities at the time of the survey; voluntary consent to participate in the study; and complete or sufficient completion of the questionnaire for further analysis. Exclusion criteria included a lack of consent to participate, duplicate responses, and questionnaires with significantly incomplete data.
