Current online Slovak humour communities

This methodological note outlines the analytical framework and procedures. The complete dataset of humour profiles is available to qualified researchers for research purposes only, upon reasonable request.

The list is the outcome of an exploratory mapping and observation of the ecosystem of public humorous profiles  within Slovak segments of Facebook and Instagram, carried out within the framework of completing Work Package 6 (Analysing humour and fostering democratic participation in times of conflict) of the DELIAH project. 
Its primary purpose is to document representative public communities and to classify them according to selected descriptive and quantitative parameters (e.g., URL address, year of establishment, follower count, profile activity, and presence of merchandise). 

The list includes profiles with the highest follower counts recorded at the beginning of the research and/or those demonstrating clear analytical relevance. For the time frame, see Section 1.2. Analytical relevance is defined (a) according to the criteria of target audience, situation/topic, and presumed communicative function , and (b) by the presence of discursive strategies characteristic of the given genre or community . For a discussion of technical constraints and considerations, see Section 1.4. 

The secondary purpose of the list is to provide a basis for ongoing research; it creates a starting point and serves as accompanying material for further quantitative and qualitative research conducted at the level of actors, discursive strategies, and pragmatic aspects of the statements produced.
