This article examines the importance of intercultural competence in
English language learning in the context of globalization and expanding international
cooperation. It explores the essence of the concept of intercultural competence, analyzing
its structural components and the specifics of its development during foreign language
teaching. Particular attention is paid to the influence of cultural factors on the success of
intercultural communication, as well as modern methods and technologies that facilitate the
development of intercultural competence in students . It is emphasized that mastering
English is impossible without an understanding of the cultural characteristics of the
countries where the language is studied, as language and culture are closely interconnected.
Developing intercultural competence promotes tolerance, respect for cultural diversity, and
a willingness to effectively interact in an international environment.
