MarsCONE 2.0: Desktop GUI for End-to-End Volcanic Cone Morphometry

This release provides MarsCONE 2.0, a PySide6 desktop application that orchestrates the full morphometric workflow for volcanic cone analysis from DEM-based inputs. The GUI integrates pipeline execution, quality control, manual correction, complex-cone aggregation, and cross-dataset comparison in a single interface.

MarsCONE 2.0 is implemented as a thin desktop layer over the existing core modules. Instead of executing core code in place, the application creates an isolated runtime session, generates fresh module configurations, and executes copied modules in that temporary workspace. This design improves run reproducibility and reduces the risk of accidental edits to development sources.

Main Features

• End-to-end execution of generator, finder, and analyzer modules (individually or as a full pipeline).
• Interactive QA tools for cross-sections and DEM overlays.
• Manual correction workflow for finder key points, with downstream analyzer reprocessing support.
• Complex-cone workflow for grouped systems, including topology summaries and merged DEM outputs.
• Exploratory visualization tools for single-dataset trends and distributions.
• Multi-dataset comparison module (scatter, heatmap, embedding, similarity/statistics exports).

Reproducibility and Runtime Model

• Module runs are executed in isolated runtime session folders.
• Runtime configuration files are generated from the current GUI state.
• Logs are streamed and preserved through the application interface.
• Output conventions are standardized across pipeline and QA products.
