- C. meleagridis Slavin, 1955, respectively. These differ- ences are much greater than those between closely related Cryptosporidium species. For example, distances between C. parvum and C. tyzzeri are 0.6%, 1.3% and 0.6%, respectively, and distances between C. muris Tyzzer, 1907 and C. andersoni Lindsay, Upton, Owens, Morgan, Mead et Blagburn, 2000 are 0.70%, 3.4% and 2.5% at the SSU, actin and COWP loci, respectively.
