This nomenclatural note serves to formally validate the subspecies Balaenoptera physalus hadriatica Alberoni, 2026, in accordance with the requirements of the International Code of Zoological Nomenclature (ICZN) for electronic publications. The extensive ecological, morphometric, transdisciplinary, and historical justifications establishing the existence of this endemic and resident fin whale population in the Adriatic Sea have been previously detailed in Alberoni (2026a) and Alberoni (2026b).
