Data Librarians Unleashed: Favorite Sources, Fierce Insights

This panel involved an exciting foray into the data landscape. Bordelon discussed refugee resources from the UNHCR. Church discussed data from the Humanitarian Data Exchange. Darrington discussed data the political dataset - Demscore.  Schwartz-Soicher discussed the Future of Families & Child Wellbeing Study; and Hayslett offered tips for finding data and working with researchers.

This panel brought together highly experienced data librarians who shared a few of their favorite sources, from foundational datasets to lesser-known, specialized collections. The discussion  included materials with international perspectives and across many disciplines, offered insights that support diverse research needs. Attendees gained practical strategies for locating and evaluating data. A toolkit of resources was provided giving a dose of inspiration, and a renewed sense of what’s possible when you know where to look. The session was Ideal for new and experienced data support professionals seeking to expand their data expertise.
