GreenCalculus — IPCC AFOLU (Agriculture, Forestry & Land-Use) Tier-1 Emission Factors
Description
The complete IPCC AFOLU (Agriculture, Forestry and Other Land Use) Tier-1 default
emission-factor set, as a single machine-readable dataset (2,953 rows). These are the
global and regional default factors a country or company uses when it has no measured,
entity-specific data — covering livestock enteric methane, manure-management CH₄ and
N₂O, managed-soil direct and indirect N₂O (EF1/EF1FR/EF2/EF3prp, FracGASF/FracGASM/EF4/
FracLEACH/EF5), liming, urea, rice cultivation, land-use change and carbon removals,
drained organic soils (wetlands), and biomass burning.
Each row carries the factor key, value, unit, gas, GWP set, the IPCC source identifier
and the exact table/equation cell reference (source.cell_ref), and the GHG-Protocol
scope. Values are reproduced at the published IPCC precision and were verified
cell-by-cell against the IPCC source tables by Jeremiah Say (June 2026).
Sources combined in this dataset:
• 2006 IPCC Guidelines for National Greenhouse Gas Inventories, Volume 4 (AFOLU)
• 2019 Refinement to the 2006 IPCC Guidelines (Vol 4 AFOLU, Ch 4/10/11)
• 2013 Supplement to the 2006 IPCC Guidelines: Wetlands
IPCC material is publicly reproducible with attribution. Please also cite the IPCC
primary sources above.
