Remarks.
Under Article 45.6. 4 of the ICZN, variety names established before 1961 may be deemed subspecific; however, no nomenclatural changes are proposed here. Ongoing molecular studies (S. Vicario, pers. comm.) may clarify the taxonomic status of this taxon.
