Seminaire de Geometrie Algebrique (SGA): English Translation Working Drafts

Public SGA working-translation record for the Modern LaTeX Editions of Mathematics Manuscripts project. This record keeps reader-facing PDFs, source-scan witnesses, and compact source ZIPs for SGA translation/reconstruction work.

Audit caveat, 2026-06-09: the SGA5 and SGA6 page-range chains are structurally represented and mathematically useful, but they should be treated as substantial working drafts rather than scribe-grade complete editions. Some uploaded filenames still contain earlier labels such as complete or source-checked; those labels should be read together with this caveat and the current audit notes.

Current SGA5 status. This version carries forward sga5_repair006_20260609.zip, a targeted French source-witness integration package. It compiles the French cumulative, carries forward the English files only as an unsynchronized repair002 reference, and closes confirmed French defects on source pages 174, 197, 326, 428, 438, 457, and 470. It is not a final certification of all SGA5 symbols or diagrams. Diagram microgeometry, exact-symbol inventory, footnote reconciliation, and English synchronization remain open lanes.

SGA5 witness-aid packages. This version includes two source-witness/anchor aids, not promoted replacement text. SGA5_next_aid_manual_source_witnesses_20260609.zip contains the source authority PDF, requested page slices, labelled full-page contexts, 15 manually selected 500 dpi diagram/arrow crops, 18 prose/equation page witnesses, manifests, and source/TeX anchor ledgers. The newer SGA5_repair006_next_aid_footnotes_diagrams_20260609.zip adds the current repair006 French TeX/PDF baseline plus the requested next-pass evidence: 25 footnote-risk source pages with full-page 350 dpi contexts and bottom-region 500 dpi labelled crops, 8 diagram microgeometry source-page requests with 16 labelled 500 dpi diagram/arrow crops and 9 full-page contexts, current repair006 rendered comparison pages, manifests, and source/current anchor ledgers. The p457 Frobenius-transitivity request is documented with its literal source crop on source p444 and current repair006 render on PDF p278. These aids are navigation/check layers only; authority remains the source scan plus explicit source-specific audit.

Current SGA6/SGA7 status. SGA6 is structurally covered across the source range, but the audit confirms localized compression/omission samples on source pages 014 and 625, with strong candidates on 431 and 679. Next repair targets remain p014, then clusters 423-454, 619-653, and 670-692. SGA7-I material is staged only as working draft material unless a specific packet declares source-checked coverage.

2026-06-09 repair007 refresh. Added sga5_repair007_20260609.zip, a French cumulative repair package that closes confirmed French repair007 gaps on source pages 177, 178, and 190. The package records the closed items as a cardinality footnote on p177, a formula-tag / (5.11.4) diagram/proof-prose repair on p178, and two §6.9 footnotes on p190. It carries English only as an unsynchronized carry-forward, and it explicitly does not certify all SGA5 symbols or diagram microgeometry.

2026-06-09 repair007 diagram aid. Added SGA5_r007_diag_aid_20260609.zip, a next-pass source/current witness package for diagram exactness, footnote census, tag-placement audit, and residual prose/equation gap localization. It contains labelled crops, source/current contexts, and ledgers; it is a locator/check layer only, not promoted replacement text.
