Antipathes radians Lamarck, 1816: 308.
Possible syntypes.
• colony (dry preserved); no locality data; label “ Mus. de Paris ”; RMNH.COEL.4929 • colony (dry preserved); no locality data; label “ Mus. de Paris ”; RMNH.COEL.4930 • colony (dry preserved); no locality data; label “ Mus. de Paris ”; RMNH.COEL.49665.
Remarks.
Lamarck (1816) cited the type locality as “ la Méditerranée? ”, indicating uncertainty. The specimens listed here lack collecting locality, but bear historical labels “ Mus. de Paris ”, consistent with material originating from the Paris collections. They may represent original material, although their status cannot be confirmed. One specimen (RMNH.COEL.4929) was observed by Silvia Vicario during a visit in August 2025 and identified as an octocoral species. All specimens were observed by the second author (May 2026) and identified as gorgonian species.
