Remarks.

The syntype corresponding to station 47 was not located in the Naturalis Biodiversity Center collection. The specimen ZMA.COEL.3462 bears label data for station 240. The station number “ 247 ” cited in van Pesch (1914: 120) is considered a typographical error, as the locality data in the original publication correspond to station 240. Under Article 45.6. 4 of the ICZN, variety names established before 1961 may be deemed subspecific; however, no nomenclatural changes are proposed here. Ongoing molecular studies (Vicario et al., in prep.) may clarify the taxonomic status of this name.
