Ξ One Field for All of Physics

Authors/Creators

Description

The Standard Model of particle physics contains 61 separate fields, each postulated independently. We propose that all 61 are components of a single master field Ξ(x, a, b, c) defined on the product of four-dimensional spacetime M⁴ and the discrete internal space T³ = {-1,0,+1}³. The 27 discrete points of T³ house 9 up-type quarks, 9 down-type quarks, 3 charged leptons, 3 neutrinos, 2 Higgs components, and 1 vacuum singlet. The three forces of the Standard Model emerge as discrete derivatives of Ξ along the three axes of T³: SU(3) colour from the a-axis, SU(2) weak from the b-axis, U(1) hypercharge from the c-axis. Gravity is the backreaction of Ξ on the spacetime geometry of M⁴. All of physics is governed by the single equation: □Ξ_{abc} + m²_{abc}Ξ_{abc} = J_{abc}[Ξ], where the masses m_{abc} = Cα^{x_{abc}} are determined by the Trit winding formula [1]. The physical meaning: every known particle is a mode of vibration of Ξ. The sphere is not a metaphor for the field — the field is a vibration of something that lives on a sphere. Three generations, three colours, and the gauge group SU(3)×SU(2)×U(1) are consequences of the ternary structure T = {-1,0,+1}: the minimum set that contains existence, non-existence, and anti-existence simultaneously.
