Literatura y ficción. La ruptura de la lógica ficcional [Literature and Fiction: The Disruption of Fictional Logic]

RESUMEN: En este trabajo se propone un modelo del texto literario que incluye las categorías genéricas esenciales, a las que hemos denominado mundo del autor y mundo de los personajes. Dicho modelo permitirá establecer una clasificación de los géneros literarios capaz de integrar todas las manifestaciones literarias existentes o imaginables, y pretende ser de utilidad para mostrar que existen géneros literarios ficcionales y géneros literarios no ficcionales. Contrariamente a lo que sostienen algunas tendencias teórico-literarias en la actualidad, las cuales consideran que la ficción es un elemento indispensable de todas las formas literarias, y que sin ficción no puede haber literatura, se intenta probar que existen tipos de literatura no ficcional, y que incluso un mismo género, como la lírica, puede adoptar formas ficcionales o no ficcionales. Por ello, la clasificación de los géneros se complementa con una teoría sobre la ficcionalidad, de cara a unificar las teorías sobre los géneros y la ficción. En este sentido, se propone una distinción entre el hecho de fingir, relacionado con el desarrollo del mundo del autor, y el de crear ficciones, atinente al despliegue del mundo de los personajes, capaz de explicar las distintas posibilidades de creación literaria, las cuales incluyen los casos de “fingimiento literario”. Por último, se trata de explicar los casos que presentan una ruptura de la lógica ficcional (o metalepsis), los cuales se producen cuando entran en contacto elementos que, desde un punto de vista lógico, deberían ser independientes (por ejemplo, cuando el autor entra en contacto de forma imposible con sus personajes ficcionales, o cuando los personajes de ficción se dirigen a los lectores), para lo cual se desarrolla una teoría de los mundos imposibles que complementa la teoría de los mundos posibles. A este respecto, el modelo del texto literario propuesto resulta de utilidad para distinguir y definir los distintos tipos de ruptura de la lógica ficcional en las diversas manifestaciones literarias y artísticas.

ABSTRACT: This paper proposes a model of the literary text that includes the essential generic categories, which we have termed the author’s world and the characters’ world. This model will allow for the establishment of a classification of literary genres capable of integrating all existing or imaginable literary manifestations, and it aims to be useful in demonstrating that there are fictional literary genres and non-fictional literary genres. Contrary to what some current literary-theoretical trends maintain, which consider fiction an indispensable element of all literary forms and that without fiction there can be no literature, this paper attempts to prove that there are types of non-fictional literature, and that even the same genre, such as lyric poetry, can adopt fictional or non-fictional forms. Therefore, the classification of genres is complemented by a theory of fictionality, with a view to unifying theories of genres and fiction. In this sense, a distinction is proposed between the act of feigning, related to the development of the author’s world, and that of creating fictions, pertaining to the deployment of the characters’ world, which is capable of explaining the different possibilities of literary creation, including cases of “literary feigning.” Finally, the study addresses cases that present a rupture of fictional logic (or metalepsis), which occur when elements that, from a logical point of view, should be independent come into contact (for example, when the author comes into impossible contact with their fictional characters, or when fictional characters address the readers), for which a theory of impossible worlds is developed that complements the theory of possible worlds. In this regard, the proposed model of the literary text proves useful for distinguishing and defining the different types of rupture of fictional logic in diverse literary and artistic manifestations.
