Multilingual Audio Database of Spoken and Sung Lyrics from Songs in Oral Tradition (Central Yi Dialect/Chuxiong Yi/Luoluo Yi)

The dataset “Multilingual Audio Database of Spoken and Sung Lyrics from Songs in Oral Tradition” (Central Yi Dialect) collects the audio recording of commonly used words in the Central Yi dialect region of China. These words mainly exist in the oral tradition of Yi ethnic minority communities in Chuxiong prefecture, Yunnan, China. 

Taking the audio recording of the words as a central point, the dataset presents audio recordings of both spoken and sung lyrics from these traditions in parallel with texts in the original Yi old scripts, International Phonetic Alphabet, Chinese and English. The detailed notes on each entry (singer, the song origin, etc).

For the users who want to be able to view the old Central Yi scripts, please download and install the input system (Chuxiong Yi input system). When you select the ‘font’ in your doc., you can select the option of CxywSt, then the Yi scripts will appear properly.
