The Entropic Dementor and the Maxwellian Violation
Authors/Creators
Description
This paper introduces a theoretical framework titled "The Entropic Dementor," which proposes a novel mechanism to challenge the second law of thermodynamics. The experiment builds upon the classic Maxwell’s Demon paradox by introducing an external, infinite entity—the Dementor—that exists outside the defined system. Unlike traditional models, this Dementor utilizes Quantum Entanglement to "suck" the memories of the demon without any prior physical interaction or conscious knowledge of the demon’s states. By employing a non-conscious, infinite sink to absorb the information costs typically associated with memory erasure, the experiment explores the possibility of a local violation of thermodynamic entropy. This inquiry seeks to provide a platform for genuine scrutiny regarding the offloading of entropic debt to external reservoirs, while acknowledging that the second law of thermodynamics is ultimately a statistical law.
