Description

Rose et al. (Nature Astronomy 2026, doi:10.1038/s41550-026-02882-x) classify the long-period radio transient ASKAP J174508.9-505149 as an accreting magnetic cataclysmic variable (P_orb=1.368 h, B>=1e7 G), with elliptically polarized radio bursts whose position angle traces TWO complete revolutions of the Poincare sphere at constant fractional circular polarization, returning to the initial state at 26 min, plus orbitally modulated X-rays and hours-long turn-offs. We show all three follow from one angle in the One-Octonion Brane-Bulk framework. Identifying the radio polarization with the H+ sector-polarization vector v of Papers LXXIX-LXXX, its transport around the e7 monodromy axis on a cone of half-angle theta gives a Rytov-Berry holonomy = enclosed solid angle Omega=2pi(1-cos theta); the spin-2 nature of polarization doubles this to a Poincare winding N_rev=2(1-cos theta), where theta is the SAME e7 alignment angle that sets the established reflection law R(theta)=sin^2 theta. Three consequences, zero free parameters: (i) observed N_rev=2 <=> theta=90deg <=> R=1, the totally-reflected e7 bounce we necessarily see; (ii) the hours-long turn-off is theta dropping below the critical angle theta*=pi/4 where modes transmit/absorb; (iii) eliminating theta gives the falsifiable brightness lock N_rev=2(1-sqrt(1-R)). The Z2 monodromy M_e7=-1 closes the loop (automatic return to initial state). The elliptical (not circular) polarization and its constant circular fraction follow from an eccentric-sphere magnetic dwarf: eccentricity fixes a Poincare latitude theta_lat=gd(psi_e) while the holonomy winds only the longitude. The binary is the dual-hyperbolic-infundibula system of CXLVIII/CLXII. Honest scope: the 26-min winding period is left open (an earlier P_orb/pi identification was mechanism-specific and is retracted -- the white dwarf gives only ~1e-4 rad of deflection, has no photon sphere, and sits in the Newtonian regime r
