THE CODEX CYCLE: A Unified Framework for Recurrent Motor Patterns in Human Behavior

Description

This work presents a unified theoretical and observational framework for the analysis of recurrent motor patterns in human behavior, termed the Codex Cycle (A–T–Pz). Integrating conceptual modeling with structured observational methodology, the study introduces the CPIC Protocol v1.2.1 as a systematic tool for identifying, coding, and quantifying patterned motor sequences in digital media.

 

The Codex Cycle is defined as a tri-phasic motor structure consisting of an Opening Marker (A), Contact with Sensitive Zone (T), and a Vectorial Exit Gesture (Pz). Unlike discrete gesture models, the cycle is characterized by temporal overlap, directional flow, and recurrence within continuous behavior.

 

A preliminary observational analysis (N = 21), using frame-by-frame coding at 1 FPS, suggests that these sequences occur with high frequency in naturalistic contexts, often embedded within ordinary actions such as grooming or expressive gestures.

 

This work is presented as a preprint and aims to establish a formal model, methodological foundation, and testable framework for future empirical investigation.
