THE NEED TO DEVELOP STUDENTS' ECOLOGICAL SAFETY COMPETENCES

This article examines the need to develop students’ ecological safety competencies in the context of sustainable development and environmental education. It emphasizes that modern education should not only provide theoretical knowledge about nature protection but also form responsible ecological behavior, practical skills, and ethical attitudes toward the environment. The study analyzes the legal and pedagogical foundations of ecological education in Uzbekistan, including national resolutions and the Concept for the Development of Environmental Education. Special attention is given to higher education, where future specialists must be prepared to assess ecological risks, make responsible decisions, and act effectively in changing environmental conditions. The article concludes that ecological culture and safety competence are essential for sustainable social and environmental development.
