Grand Responsive Universe Theory GRUT ToE v4.0 - The Emergence of Everything - Candidate Framework

The Grand Responsive Universe Theory (GRUT) is a candidate Theory of Everything built on one premise: the gravitational vacuum is a responsive medium with finite memory, not an inert stage. A single Schwinger–Keldysh (closed-time-path) action yields one constitutive equation, τ₀ż + z = z_target, whose limits recover quantum mechanics (fast limit) and general relativity (slow / sub-horizon limit) — governed by just two constants: a relaxation time τ₀ ≈ 41.9 Myr and a dimensionless impedance α = 1/3.

v4 keeps that verified core and reorganizes the whole theory around a single developmental claim: responsiveness is the transition that turns a passive universe into a participating one — a universe that can hold its own past. Where v3 was "the corrected physical picture," v4 — The Emergence of Everything — runs that picture forward, the way the universe itself built each layer, and draws a sharp boundary around what the principle reaches.

The picture in one line

The universe's own order of emergence, which is also the order of the book:

Everything downstream of the transition to memory is a regime of one constitutive law. The reflexive close: GRUT is the universe's current model of its own responsiveness.

What "Theory of Everything" means here

Not a theory that derives everything — one that has a coherent, tiered place for everything, with a sharp boundary: completeness of the map, not omniscience. This is a deliberate commitment, not a shortfall — GRUT's defining minimalism (one dynamical metric, one memory channel, Q) forbids the moves a derive-everything theory would require. Every claim is carried at one of five honest tiers — DERIVED / HOSTED / FORBIDDEN-BY-THEOREM / OPEN / CONJECTURAL — machine-checked against a 121-claim registry.

v3 → v4 — What changed

v3 was a foundation defined by what it forbids. v4 keeps that core intact, adds genuinely new structure, and corrects one banked over-claim.

• The emergence reframe. A developmental history of reality organized around the emergence of responsiveness, each layer placed at its true tier — the discipline kept beneath the story, where a referee needs it.
• Genesis — the foundation lock. v3 named "why the vacuum can remember" as a frontier; v4 largely derives it. Cooling through a critical temperature opens a slow/fast split; memory condenses as the un-rejected Mori–Zwanzig remainder, and one proper length L₀ = c·τ₀ ≈ 12.85 Mpc breaks scale-freedom. The keystone: Q is the one invariant that survives the loss of memory — the arrow of time predates responsiveness.
• The no-gos, unified. The single-mode pole classification, the propagating-relic pincer, and the locality / no-halo theorem are three facets of one prohibition — no new propagating vacuum pole — and the dark-matter no-go and the hierarchy no-go are the same no-go. The 34-order hierarchy reduces to the difference of two independently anchored numbers (ln(τ₀/t_P) = 134.45, ln(τ_micro/t_P) = 56.21; their difference c = 78.23), not a third.

• The decisive-test boundary. A new organize-or-host test sorts the frontiers into Category A (on the ladder), B (hosted Standard-Model matter-content), and C (observer / meta) — giving the spine its edges.
• The baryogenesis over-claim, corrected. v3 listed η_B ≈ 6.6×10⁻¹⁰ as a certified prediction. v4 demotes it: the GRUT factor (2−R_B)/S_B is off-spine and cosmetic, the +7.7% match was a documented reverse-fit, and the claim is re-tiered ANCHORED — existence derived, magnitude hosted.

The decisive-test scorecard — the honest boundary

The pattern: vacuum / gravitational sectors are on the ladder; gauge / matter-content sectors are hosted off it. A theory that "explained everything" the same way would explain nothing in particular — the boundary is a feature, not a defect.

What stands (derived / certified)

• Linear cosmology is exactly ΛCDM — μ_linear = 1, the transverse-traceless projector theorem (α-free, τ₀-free, purely structural), over-determined ~32σ by the low-ℓ CMB–ISW. The framework's cleanest theorem.

• Quantum mechanics recovered as the zero-memory (τ → 0) limit; the arrow of time Ṡ ≥ 0 from Q's retarded kernel — directionality more primitive than memory itself.
• The ~689 Hz gravitational-decoherence plateau — the primary tabletop falsifier (gold microsphere, m ≈ 80.8 pg), fixed from {G, ℏ, c, τ₀} with zero free parameters.
• Normal neutrino ordering (Σm_ν ≈ 60 meV) and Koide K = 2/3 as a Z₃-circulant identity — the consequences derived, the Z₃ structure hosted, not generated.

What's open

• The F(t) dark-matter host — can the substrate source the specified ~10⁻²² eV scalar? (Falsifier: wave-dark-matter soliton cores vs the Lyman-α forest.)
• The first-principles value of α = 1/3 — the 4th-order Riegert / Paneitz conformal-anomaly closure (the conditional trace-anomaly theorem is proven; its antecedent is open).
• The geometry of gravity — v4 derives the response of gravity; the Einstein tensor and metric structure remain hosted.
• Coupling unification — the responsive β-correction is a named hook, unbuilt (untested through the decisive lens).
• The observer / meta frontiers — consciousness, information, mathematics — remain conjectural or open.

Verification

v4 was put through a six-dimension adversarial audit before release — every load-bearing number recomputed, every tier checked against the registry, every equation checked for correctness. It demoted its own claims where they did not hold: a non-reproducing α-sensitivity figure, a stale dependency count, a wrong neutrino mass-ratio bound, an over-asserted coupling verdict, and a forbidden Ω_Λ = (2−R)² identity in a summary table were all caught and corrected. The honest-tiering apparatus is itself auditable: 121 registered claims across six machine tiers, 3,000+ gating tests, falsifiers attached — nothing HOSTED or OPEN dressed as DERIVED.

Honest scope

GRUT is a candidate, not a completed theory — the current rung, not the arrival. Its certified precision is in the decoherence sector, R, the cosmological background, Ω_Λ, and the derived result that linear cosmology is ΛCDM. It is honest-but-open exactly where the dark sector now lives — inside the substrate, uncomputed. Every quantitative claim traces to a tested function; every retraction and honest negative is kept on the record.
