Pre-Restoration Activity 17th-Century Organ: Historical Context, Organological Study, and Restoration Planning

This presentation was produced as part of the event “Pre-Restoration Activity: 17th-Century Organ.” It addressed a range of topics, including the characteristics of historic organs in Bologna, the figure of Francesco Traeri, the technical and historical features of the organ preserved in the Church of Santa Maria di Galliera (Via Manzoni 3, Bologna, Italy), and preliminary considerations regarding future restoration approaches. The content was presented in both Italian and English.
The activity was supported by the Comitato per Bologna Storica e Artistica. The conservation and restoration of this organ are of significant importance for the preservation of Bologna’s cultural heritage.
