Global Tide Gauge-Satellite Altimetry Nontidal Residual (NTR) Data Release

Description

This data release is associated with the manuscript “Global Assessment of Satellite Altimetry for Observing Extreme Coastal Sea Levels” submitted to Communications Earth & Environment.

This repository contains derived datasets used to evaluate the ability of along-track satellite altimetry products to reproduce tide gauge-derived nontidal residual variability and extremes along global coastlines. The release includes matched tide gauge–satellite altimetry nontidal residual time series for CMEMS, X-TRACK, and ALES, including common-timestamp files used for direct product comparison, product-specific matched time series, and tide gauge-based percentile thresholds used to identify extreme nontidal residual values.
