Plasma effects in models of winds from cool evolved stars
Authors/Creators
Description
For some cool evolved stars, like AGB stars, pulsations and radiation pressure on dust are major ingredients for driving their winds. For other stars, such as red supergiants, the mechanisms are not well understood. Here effects of magnetic fields and plasma might be of major importance. Significant plasma effects likely occur in limited regions in a dynamic, inhomogeneous stellar atmosphere.
