OHDSI Ireland Poster 2026
Description
OHDSI‑Ireland is the all‑island National Node of the global Observational Health Data Sciences and Informatics (OHDSI) collaborative. It brings together researchers, policymakers, clinicians, and industry partners to strengthen Ireland’s capacity for generating real‑world evidence from existing health data.
The initiative promotes the use of the OMOP Common Data Model, endorsed by HIQA for secondary data use under the European Health Data Space (EHDS). By harmonising diverse Irish health datasets—across hospitals, registries, and primary care—OHDSI‑Ireland enables secure, transparent, federated analytics without moving patient‑level data.
Its work supports evidence‑informed policy, regulatory decision‑making, clinical research feasibility, and more efficient use of Ireland’s health information resources. OHDSI‑Ireland also facilitates participation in international studies, including those aligned with the DARWIN‑EU federated data network.
The node is led by contributors from the University of Limerick, Queen’s University Belfast, and industry partners, and welcomes engagement from organisations and individuals interested in advancing health research through real‑world data.
