From Discovery to Critical Edition: Notes on Six Years of Research into an Unpublished Russian Esoteric Manuscript

This article presents a personal and scholarly account of a six-year research project dedicated to an unpublished Russian esoteric manuscript tentatively entitled Conversations of the Old Priest. The study traces the path from the manuscript's discovery through attempts to obtain academic and institutional support, to the eventual completion of a critical study, translation, and interpretative analysis. Beyond the manuscript itself, this article reflects on the challenges of researching and preserving an unknown esoteric source outside traditional academic structures.

The broader project, The Priest of the Sun, includes a critical edition, translation, historical commentary, doctrinal reconstruction, and symbolic analysis of the manuscript.
