Authors/Creators
Description
The project named “UPI: A Study of User Preferences & Usage Patterns” investigates the increasing introduction of the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) in India and its effects on consumer behavior. With the digital economy changing rapidly, and understanding consumer behavior towards UPI versus traditional cash transactions and other forms of e-payments has become an absolute necessity.
The objective was to investigate the user’s preference for UPI over cash and other digital platforms, and assess the usage frequency of the UPI system on a daily basis. The design goals were aimed at identifying common problems faced by users in utilizing the UPI and understanding the important factors in their decision to pay by this method. Data collection was done using surveys, and analysis was conducted to look for trends and usage patterns. Findings showed an evident tendency to rely on UPI because of convenience, ease, and speed. However, issues such as failed transactions, internet dependency, as well as security problems were also mentioned.
