Deltadalen DD-1 core comprehensive dataset, Spitsbergen, Svalbard
Authors/Creators
Description
This data was collected after a successful drilling campaign in Deltadalen, Svalbard, in 2014. All the data collected from the recovered cores were processed and analysed in Zuchuat, V., Sleveland, A. R. N., Twitchett, R. J., Svensen, H. H., Turner, H., Augland, L. E., ... & Planke, S. (2020). A new high-resolution stratigraphic and palaeoenvironmental record spanning the End-Permian Mass Extinction and its aftermath in central Spitsbergen, Svalbard. Palaeogeography, Palaeoclimatology, Palaeoecology, 554, 109732. https://doi.org/10.1016/j.palaeo.2020.109732
The data package contains the following:
- XRD-XRF and organic geochemistry data for selected samples of the DD1 core, these are three .xlsx files
- A zip file called “files for correlations”. Don’t change the name of that folder or any of the folders in there if you want to be able to run the core-viewer: You will find all the raw data in separate folders, including all the core images, hyperspectral images, XRF scans, sed-logs, etc. as well as a little .exe file called “Well_Data_Viewer_v1-0.exe”, which runs on Matlab runtime r2020b. This core-viewer was developed by Daniel W. Schmid.
- All the drone photos of the outcrop of Deltadalen.
