Continuity Storage: Symbolic Persistence in Oral, Ritual, and Distributed Knowledge Systems. A Collegial Working Response to Treasure A. Hunt
Authors/Creators
Description
Following an invitation to offer comments and contribute to the ongoing scholarly discussion, this paper provides a prepared response to Treasure A. Hunt’s work on the framework of continuity storage. The goal of this response is to consider how Hunt’s framework resonates with phenomena observed in adjacent fields, to identify where its conceptual connections are strongest, and to examine where its explanatory power begins to break down. In this spirit, the analysis that follows offers a collegial, academically grounded evaluation that includes thoughtful critique, alternative interpretations, and cross‑disciplinary perspectives, all while maintaining a constructive orientation toward the development of the framework.
