What do fluid Li isotopes actually record during silicate weathering - data
Description
This data set include suppmentary data for the research: What do fluid Li isotopes actually record during silicate weathering
This study is trying to figure out a debated topic: what is the controlling factor of fluid Li isotopes during silicate weathering and what actually do Li isotopes track?
In this work, we conducted five parallel water-rock interaction experiments, and find out that fluid Li isotopes is not able to uniquely track weathering congruency, reaction rate of solids or residence time alone. Rather, this system reaches quasi-steady-state in a short timescale, and the fluid Li concentration at the quasi-steady-state can reflect integrated reaction rate of rock.
Structure of the data:
Supplementary Data S1: original geochemical data.
Supplementary Data S2: the calculated Dissolution/Precipitation rate for each experiment.
Supplementary Data S3: sensitivity test to explore the assumptions made for the mass balance calculation.
Supplementary code: the Julia code used to conduct mass-balance calculation and plotting.
Please feel free to play around the data!
