Principle of the EFFECT Justifying the CAUSE / Finalist Cosmology
Authors/Creators
Description
This article proposes a philosophical formalization of the “principle of the e8ect justifying the cause,” understood as a finalist hypothesis according to which the intelligibility of the cosmos must be conceived in light of the end it makes possible. From this perspective, causes cannot be understood solely as e8icient antecedents of phenomena, but also as conditions oriented toward a determinate purpose. Such an approach follows in the tradition of Aristotelian final causality while engaging with contemporary debates on the fine-tuning of the universe and the strong anthropic principle.
