Authors/Creators

Description

Abstract IT.

Abstract EN. This paper analyses the territorial configuration of medieval Naples (9th – 12th centuries) through notarial records, interpreted as a unique vantage point for examining the relationship between urban society and the surrounding territory. The digital structuring of the records makes it possible to identify spatial distributions, chronological dynamics and levels of articulation within the documented agricultural landscapes. The case of the monastery of San Sebastiano shows how juridical practices contributed to the management and development of the territory.
