SpatialForm Method White Paper: Single-Camera 3D Kinematics for Athletic Movement Review

Authors/Creators

Description

This white paper introduces the SpatialForm method language for athletic movement review from ordinary Phone Sports Video.

SpatialForm is positioned as a Personal Athletic Intelligence product that turns phone-recorded sports movement into Performance Form: a spatially readable, reviewable, and useful movement representation for athletes and coaches.

The paper explains the relationship between Phone Sports Video, Performance Form, 3D Performance Form, Single-Camera 3D Kinematics, Movement Intelligence, Digital Human Feedback, and Biomechanical Insight.

The central thesis is that the capture problem in athletic movement analysis is already mostly solved because athletes and coaches record movement every day with phones. The harder problem is reading what the body actually did.

SpatialForm does not present itself as a medical diagnosis system, a replacement for coaching judgment, or a replacement for laboratory motion capture. Its role is to support movement review, coaching discussion, progress tracking, and performance feedback from ordinary sports video.

Current focus: tennis movement analysis, including serve review, forehand review, sensor-free movement review, and phone-based 3D Performance Form.
