PERSEUS multi-state LANDIS-II Tier 2 calibration framework (v1.8)

Description

Eight-state Tier 2 per-species production calibrations of the LANDIS-II Biomass Succession extension against Forest Inventory and Analysis (FIA) hindcasts. States included: Maine, Washington, Georgia, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio.

Deposit includes: per-state production theta vectors (CSV with ANPP and BiomassMax multipliers); five-state 100-year statewide biomass carbon trajectories under literature and calibrated parameters; methods paper Section 3 (eight-state version); CONUS expansion roadmap; ecoregion cluster scheme; Indiana per-plot LL outlier audit (with v1.10 fix in preparation).

Key findings: (1) Regional gradient in literature bias across eight states sorting into three coherent regimes (Northeast scale-up, Great Lakes moderate-down, West/Southeast strong-down). (2) Internal-consistency validation showing that year-100 calibrated-over-literature carbon ratios match each state median ANPP multiplier within 0.07. (3) Three-mode calibration degeneracy pathology identified and guarded against in the harvester selection rule.

Source code: github.com/holoros/landis2HPC tag v1.8. Reproducibility framework runs on Ohio Supercomputer Center Cardinal cluster with LANDIS-II v8 (Singularity).

Notes

v1.8 ships eight-state production calibrations and five-state statewide carbon validation. Concept DOI persists across future versions: v1.9 (IN+OH statewide carbon), v1.10 (IN COTT+SIM species pool extension), v2.0 (CONUS expansion).
