Description

This item is a digitized image of a traditional Tamil palm-leaf manuscript containing verses 291–300 from Adhikaram 30 (Vāymai – Truthfulness) of the Tirukkural, composed by Thiruvalluvar.

The manuscript is inscribed on processed palm leaf using a stylus, reflecting the classical South Indian manuscript tradition. The folio typically features central binding holes for stringing, carefully incised Tamil script arranged in linear format, and visible signs of age such as surface wear, minor cracks, and darkened incisions. Marginal markings and slight irregularities indicate manual scribal transmission and continued historical handling.

This manuscript exemplifies the preservation and dissemination of Tamil ethical thought through palm-leaf tradition prior to the advent of print culture. It is a valuable resource for research in classical Tamil literature, manuscriptology, paleography, and cultural heritage studies.
