D4.1 Co-creation methodology and dialogue sessions reports_V3

Description

This report is integral part of the work delivered within FIERCE project’s work package (WP) 4, titled "Participatory research co-creation Labs”. WP4 has three main objectives: (i) establishing a co - creation process to connect research activities with practice and activism, (ii) support in bridging gaps between the feminist movement and allies and (iii) pilot democratic innovations co-designed and co-created in partnership with feminist actors (movements and organisations). To achieve them, WP4 is divided in
two main initiatives. On one side, FIERCE labs —tasks (T) 4.1, 4.2 and 4.3—, consisting of action-oriented dialogues among feminist activists structured in three co-creation cycles, implemented in the eight countries of the project —Denmark, France, Greece, Italy, Poland, Slovenia, Spain and Turkey— and one transnational lab. On the other side, FIERCE actions —T4.4—, aimed at testing democratic innovations through the financing of initiatives proposed by feminist actors, that could potentially originate also from the lab’s activities.

The present deliverable is the third version of D4.1 “Co-creation methodology and dialogue sessions reports”, focused on presenting the methodology for the co-creation labs (T4.1), as well as to report and analyse the lab sessions (T4.2 and 4.3). The three FIERCE’s co-creation cycles have been implemented between April and November 2024. Each cycle comprises a series of sessions organised as lab encounters, specifically including: an in-person meeting in each national lab, followed by two meetings within the transnational lab —one in person and one online—. It is worth highlighting that the labs aspire to transcend mere discourse. While they certainly serve as spaces for interaction and discussion among diverse stakeholders, their ultimate aim is to generate concrete policy- and politically oriented outcomes by the participating groups.

The first and second versions of the deliverable, presented in August 2023 and April 2024, described the methodology and the report of the first and second co-creation cycles of the FIERCE project. This third version of the deliverable reports the third co-creation cycle of the project, i.e., the third lab sessions of the eight national labs and the transnational lab.

This document is organised in six chapters. After this brief introduction, Chapter 2 gives an overview of the FIERCE labs’ composition in terms of the organisations conforming the lab and the sociodemographic characteristics of the participants of each lab. Chapter 3 describes the third lab inpresence sessions in terms, detailing the preparation process, agenda and content of the session. Chapter 4 focuses on the lab’s internal dynamics, providing some reflections regarding the decisionmaking
and power dynamics, the presence of controversial issues and tensions/debates, emotions inside the lab, the establishment of new alliances and some final considerations regarding intersectionality and democratic innovations. Chapter 5 centres in analysing the FIERCE lab’s outcomes, while chapter 6 includes a comparative analysis. Finally, chapter 5 presents the annexes.
