Digital literacy is a key skill in the era of digitalization, encompassing the ability to work with information in a digital environment. This article examines the concept of digital literacy. The introduction defines the term and its significance, taking into account updates for 2026, such as the integration of AI and data. The methods section describes approaches to assessing the level of digital literacy, including the updated DigComp 2.2 framework. The results are based on an analysis of global and regional data for 2023–2026, with an emphasis on statistics from Uzbekistan. The discussion analyzes the consequences, including global trends, and provides recommendations for improving literacy. The study emphasizes that in developing countries such as Uzbekistan, digital literacy can become a catalyst for socio-economic growth, but it requires targeted interventions, especially in the context of the growth of AI. In addition, aspects of its impact on the labor market and the role of the state in promoting initiatives are considered.
