Description
Neurodifferentiation is a process in which neural stem cells or neuroepithelial cells specialize into radial glial cells, bipolar-shaped neural progenitor cells capable of producing neurons, astrocytes, and oligodendrocytes. This process is accompanied by the expression of specific biomarkers. We developed a multiplex selected reaction monitoring (SRM)-MS assay that enables the relative quantification of 17 cell-specific protein neuromarkers, such as neuronal migration protein doublecortin (DCX), vimentin (VIM), microtubule-associated protein 2 (MAP2), or myelin basic protein (MBP) plus one constitutively expressed housekeeping protein (GAPDH).
