Teachers' Perceptions of AI-Generated Materials in EFL Classrooms
Description
This study examines EFL teachers’ perceptions of AI-generated materials in language classrooms. The research focuses on the benefits and challenges of using artificial intelligence tools such as OpenAI ChatGPT in English language teaching. A mixed-methods approach was applied through questionnaires and semi-structured interviews with EFL teachers from different educational institutions. The findings indicate that most teachers have positive attitudes toward AI-generated materials because they help save time, increase creativity, and support lesson planning. Nevertheless, participants also expressed concerns about content accuracy, excessive dependence on technology, and ethical issues related to plagiarism and academic integrity. The study concludes that AI technologies can effectively support EFL teaching when teachers use them critically, responsibly, and appropriately in classroom practice.
