Description

ecPoint-Calibrate 2.0.0

A major release: new data engine and a simpler, installer-free distribution.

  • New GRIB engine — no Metview, no conda. GRIB/geopoints I/O now runs on ECMWF's earthkit (earthkit-data/-geo/-maps) with the eccodes engine from pip wheels. The backend installs into a plain virtualenv on Windows, macOS, and Linux.
  • Runs from source — no installer, no code-signing. The Electron one-click installer is gone. Set up once with setup.bat/setup.sh, then launch with start.bat/start.sh; the app opens in your browser at localhost:3000.
  • Cross-platform setup hardening. Setup scripts auto-detect Python 3.11+ (handling macOS's built-in 3.9), and .npmrc enables legacy-peer-deps so npm install works on modern npm.
  • Quality. 100 backend tests (94% coverage) and 24 frontend tests, all passing.
  • Housekeeping. Apache-2.0 licence metadata aligned; repository metadata and lockfile cleaned.

Install: download the repo, run setup once, then start. Requires Python 3.11+ and Node.js — see the README.
